Essential Winter Services for Your Subaru

We all know that winter in Colorado can be brutal, with snow, sleet, and freezing temperatures that can wreak havoc on your car if it isn't prepared. We also know how annoying it is to search “Subaru service near me” without knowing who to trust for quality service. Schedule a Subaru service appointment with Valley Subaru of Longmont to ensure your vehicle has everything it needs to perform. From fluids to genuine Subaru auto parts, we keep your ride at peak performance. Tire Check and Change To provide adequate traction on snow and ice, your tires need to have a minimum of 10/32-inch of tread. If your tires are worn, it's best to replace them before the winter weather arrives. In addition to tire tread, it's also important to have the right type of tires for winter weather. Winter tires have a special rubber compound that remains flexible even in sub-zero temperatures, providing better traction and handling on snow and ice. Battery Check Cold weather can drain a battery's power, making it more difficult for the engine to start. Have our technicians check the battery's charge level and clean the cables to ensure a strong connection. If your battery is more than three years old, it's a good idea to have it tested to see if it can handle the demands of winter weather. Fluid Check Antifreeze helps keep your engine from freezing in cold weather. Our technicians will check your coolant level and its mix to make sure it's at the proper concentration that prevents freezing. We'll also check your windshield washer fluid and top it off with a winter blend that won't freeze in colder temperatures. Depending on the type of oil you’re using, it might also be appropriate to change to a blend that stays fluid during winter. Lights and Wipers Visibility is key to safe winter driving. Our team will inspect all of your lights to make sure they're working properly and replace any burnt-out bulbs. We'll also check your wiper blades and replace them if they're worn or damaged to make sure your windshield stays clear in the snow and sleet. Choose Valley Subaru of Longmont Winter in Colorado can be challenging, but with proper preparation, your car can handle the harsh weather conditions and keep you safe on the road. Schedule your Subaru service appointment today at Valley Subaru of Longmont so you’re prepared.
